This unique, one off piece of porcelain jewellery has been made using the impression from three Silver Birch leaves and designed so the leaves ‘waterfall’ downwards in a trio.
The leaves measure 8.5cm long (9cm including the silver finding loop), and 3.5cm at the widest point on the first leaf. The tiered pendant has been matched with a pretty grey suede cord (44cm long) so it can be worn in a contemporary style over jumpers and loose tops. It would also be possible to replace this long cord with a shorter chain if you prefer.
The piece weighs only 17g – so light, delicate, yet robust being fired to 1280°C stoneware. Please treat this pendant as you would glass jewellery or Swarovski crystal jewellery (putting it on in a carpeted room, not on a tiled floor).
It’s been sensitively glazed with copper oxide and pink pigments to create a realistic and beautiful representation of the real leaves. Platinum lustre has also been added to the edges and enhanced the vein patterns to give an extra appeal.
